You know, coming back and looking at this today, I just realized who the guy in the shades is. Vince Edwards! Ben Casey! [Or am I wrong?]
He was so hot, but such a lousy actor--at least on that show. I used to watch the reruns on Nickelodian, about 20 years ago, and that's when I realized how corney the show was. But I guess at the time, it was all new and happening, and he kept all the ladies imaginations alive and well. [Including my mother! She and her best friend Millie would always talk about him in hushed tones, and I wondered why. They thought he was hot too.]
